you can watch devlogs and tutorials to get the basics. i think there's even a website or something that helps people develop games and its by a group of people who make a game without communication as a challenge
i kinda just realized your shorks look kinda like the orks from 40k with that "welded scrap" asthetic but better, modernised, and refined, its a neat idea
